Sky Sports Super Sunday Motion Graphics Analyses

Sky Sports Super Sunday

This opening title sequence has being created for Sky Sports Super Sunday specifically for the Premiere League shows. The Sequence allows the channel to introduce the programme and establish it's audience as it will appeal to premiere league fans and supporters, it also allows the channels sponsors to advertise themselves. The sequence opens with a logo that appears to be sitting in the clouds, an image of a 3d golden lion is then shown in a football stadium this is the logo for the premier league. An advert for Ford the then shown as we see a man driving a ford car as the day changes to night and the setting changes from a rural city to a country lane. We then see footage taken from old premier league football games we see Teddy Sherigham celebrating scoring a goal and Sir Alex Ferguson celebrating winning a cup. A continuous montage of different clips taken from previous and momentous games are then played. An effect has being used throughout as it appears a golden outline surrounds all of the characters onscreen creating a magical type effect representing victory and trophies. The Lion is featured between shots then finally the clip ends with a 3d image of the premier league trophies on a football pitch in front of the lion with the name of the show underneath.

This sequence has being created using animation, motion graphics and CGI.  At the very begining of the sequence both animation and CGI has being used as the emblem appears to be sitting in the clouds as the camera zooms out, Cgi has being used to create the 2d image.  The Golden lion has being designed using CGI  3d computer graphics, a 3D image has being used at it makes the model appear more realistic than a 2D image. Colour rendering has also being used as the lion is shiny and appears to be glittering as the light reflects of the surface of its body. Video Compositing has also being used as images have being superimposed over the top of one another as the lion appears to be in  football stadium creating one image.  The ford advertising has being created on a real life scale although the lighting effects and colour rendering has being used as we see the transition between day and night. Although all of this footage is 100% opaque.  All of the images we see of different football  icons are slightly blurred by a golden mist this has being created using motion graphics creating the illusion that the golden mist is an outer glow of the player and has being manipulated to create the illusion that the mist is in motion with the action of the character. CGI will have also being used as the images will have been manipulated graphically creating the outer mist behind the main subject using colour rendering as the outer mist has 0% opacity as we are able to see through it and is shiny.
